The real sister of Victoria (As opposed to the dopplegnanger who is now confusing itself with the real Victoria to the extent that neither knows which is which). Vanessa, Treasure Hunter

X-Wing Team Epic Tournament Format Game
Played a first game using the Epic Format Tournament Doubles rules. I took a list that consisted of Kyle, 2 B wings and 2 A Wings, paired with Ten Numb, Luke, Chewie, and a Rookie X-Wing. We faced 4 Ties (3 Academies and Howlrunner), Mauler, 3 Interceptors of various flavours, and 3(!) Firestorms.
I took lots of pictures, some better than others.
Lessons learned
1. A-Wings with deadeye and Assualt missiles spoil Tie-Swarms day. When they hit. A third A-Wing with missile would potentially wipe out swathes of a swarm.
2a. Advanced Proton Torpedoes are range 1. This would have been something to read before I added them.
2b. They also rock when they are combined with a focus token from Kyle Katarn, and then you end up with 5 hits on Boba Fett. Large ships should fear these.
3. HWK with Kyle and Reconaisance Expert and a turret. Making things die AND making stuff around it more deadly.
Perhaps the best game of X-wing I have had yet, and I haven't had a bad one. Although the 3 hours tournament time limit feels....hopeful.

Victorias
I got a set of the new plastic Victoria crew for Malifaux off of E-bay for a very good price. Downside, they had been already assembled and painted. Since part of the appeal for me was in the painting, they were to be an experiment in stripping and repainting someone elses painted models.
First lesson. Stripping paint.
Fairy power spray. It really does work. As long as you pour it in a pot, and then leave the models to soak, before attacking them with a toothbrush. It seemed to leave the models a darker grey than I think the bare plastic, but almost all of the paint came off with a little gentle scrubbing.
Second lesson. Check models
Having scrubbed them, and re-undercoated them, I spotted a few small problems. Like a broken ankle, hair on the wrong way round, the usual. Easily fixed, but I should have checked first.
So I have made a start. As far as I can tell, thematically, the crew should consist of the Victorias, Ronin, Student of Conflict and Vanessa (The other sister). All of which I have. I can't find any other sisters in my giant list of all the model types in Malifaux. That I made by hand. And which anyone who wants/needs/has an interest in can have.
So, some pictures of the first two models painted. The Victorias. I am especially pleased with the white effect on the standing Victoria's coat.

Warmachine In Progress (WIP)
So, just an idea of where I am with the warmachine stuff. I have decided, nothing else gets assembled until this little lot is painted.
On the table (Well, shelf supported by 8 coke cans on top of a chest of drawers) currently is....
6 Stormblades
3 Stormgunners
Stormgunner officer and standard
3 Storm Lances
Ironclad
2 Chargers
Hunter
3 Stormsmiths
2 Stormsmith Stormtowers
10 Trenchers
3 Trencher Grenade Porters
Trencher Master Sergeant and Sniper
6 Rangers
Maxwell Finn
The other Named trencher solo (Who's name I forgot)
Grenadier
Trencher Cannon
Trencher Chain Gun
So thats 4 units, 4 support weapons, 5 solos, 5 'jacks. At least a big chunk of it isn't predominantly blue.

WIP Katherine Laddermore
So, I've been trying to take some photos of my painting, just to see what the new camera is like. And the answer is, camera good, lighting bad. But anyway, some Katherine Laddermore WIP shots.
Hopefully, I should have some better lit shots of them finished and based soon, along with some photos of some more of the Cygnar Army I am working on. There is quite a lot of it, and lets just say, I am know thoroughly bored of painting blue.
Comments, criticism etc all welcomed.
